If you want to get the word out that you have your own business on your personal profile page, put a link to your Facebook Business (Fan) page under the “employer” section.
If you simply type in your business or company name into the “employer” section of your personal Facebook profile, you might find that the link does NOT take you to your Facebook business page but rather to a non-descript generic facebook page:
As you can see, this page does not help attract potential clients. It doesn’t give much information to your audience about your business, nor does it include any posts or articles you have shared on your page (and it isn’t very attractive, either)!
It’s super simple to link your Facebook business page to your personal profile page and here’s how:
- Go to your Business page
- Copy the NAME of your page (not the URL)
- On the home page, on the left under your name click “edit your profile”.
- On the left hand column, click “Education and Work”.
- Type your business name in the “Employer” box. Assuming you are a fan of your own page, a dropdown field should appear. Click on your page to complete the linking process.
Now, when you view your Facebook personal profile page, under your name a link that directs the viewer to your Facebook Business Page will appear:
Looks better, huh? And so easy to do!
